TylerWelcome, I am a Software Developer, a HAM Radio and Emergency Communications enthusiast and an Amateur Photographer.  This is where I share my hobbies and ideas with you.

I am a member of the Utah County ARES.  If you are not familiar with ARES, we are a volunteer group of HAM radio operators training to be Emergency Communications Specialists.  We assist County and local jurisdictions with both emergency and non emergency communication challenges.   We own, operate, maintain, and sometimes build our own emergency communications equipment.  We are not solely HAM radio operators, but train to be communications experts in many different modes of communications. See the UCARES website for more information or the ARRL site for information on A.R.E.S.

I am also a member of a special communications team assisting the Utah County Sheriffs office.   This team is know as the Utah County Sheriffs Communication Auxiliary Team (S.C.A.T).   We support and assist the Utah County Sheriffs Office filling multiple roles in both Emergency Communications and Emergency Management.  For more information about the Emergency Management Division of the Utah County Sheriffs Office, see their website at: http://www.utahcountyonline.org/Dept/sheriff/index.asp

As mentioned above, I’m a budding amateur photographer.  I like to shoot lots of things, but most often it’s landscape and nature.  Some of my work is available for purchase.  If you’re interested, head over and take a look at my photo store.
